[Correspondence] Paralysis in public health: evidence as an alibi?

In their Viewpoint, Habib Benzian and colleagues1 state that the volume and uncertainty of evidence would delay public health action, as they “generate analysis paralysis, privileging refinement over implementation”. However, we argue that this paralysis is not primarily attributable to an overabundance of irrelevant evidence; what is critical is the ability of health systems to learn how to make evidence actionable.
