[Correspondence] Paralysis in public health: evidence as an alibi?

In their timely and compelling Viewpoint, Habib Benzian and colleagues1 argue that evidence can function as an alibi for delay and call for public health to move through uncertainty. Benzian and colleagues’ analysis is consistent with a long tradition in systems science. Making this theoretical grounding explicit would strengthen their arguments.
